Tom is a London based Cinematographer with an instinctive eye and a knack for blending documentary techniques with a distinctly cinematic aesthetic. Following the story is always the priority, and making the best of available light comes naturally.

The results of this sensibility can be seen in work as diverse as the guerilla, docu-feel MVA nominated promo for Kano - 'This is England' or a more considered feel in the 3 part short documentary series on the abstract, scientific and philosophical artwork of United Visual Artists for Nowness.

His fundamental understanding of light makes Tom equally at home in the studio using delicate lighting techniques to pick out key facets of a product for clients such as Sony, Vertu, Adidas or Bally.

Tom worked his way up through the camera department until he became a Cinematographer. During those years he worked on some of the biggest commercials happening in the UK. Having started out at a time that saw significant change in camera technology, he counts himself lucky to have learnt the discipline of working in a proper camera team.

His interests include the outdoors, Latin America, trad climbing, literature, buying crunky old lenses, photography and modern art.
